Terms and Conditions

‘Course’ = online Thesis Boot Camp, online writing groups, single-session workshops and webinars.

Bookings
Bookings for Thesis Boot Camps can only be confirmed when accompanied by the stated deposit. The balance of your course fee is payable no later than six weeks before the start of the 3-day Main Event. If we do not receive your balance when it is due, we reserve the right to offer the place to someone else.

Bookings for single-session workshops and webinars can only be confirmed when accompanied by the stated payment.

Deposits
For Thesis Boot Camps, the stated deposit secures your place. If you withdraw in writing within the 14-day cooling off period after paying your deposit, you will receive a full refund. After the 14-day cooling off period, your deposit will not be refunded.

Remaining balance
Balance payments for Thesis Boot Camps are due six weeks before the beginning of the 3-Day Main Event. Balance payments are generally non-refundable.

Cancellations
For Thesis Boot Camps: if you need to cancel before six weeks prior to the course start date, we will refund any money paid minus the deposit. If you need to cancel within six weeks of the course start date, no refunds will generally be given. If we can find someone to take your place we may be able to return your balance payment, minus your £100 deposit. However, there is no guarantee that we will be able to on-sell your place.

For single-session workshops and webinars:,if you need to cancel before 14 days prior to the course, we will refund you any money paid minus a £10 administrative fee. If you cancel within 14 days prior to the course, we will not issue a refund.

For all courses:

·      No refunds will be given on the day of the course or during the course.

·      Partial refunds will not be provided if participants miss any sessions of the course for any reason.

·      If we need to cancel the event for any reason (including not reaching the minimum number of participants required for a successful learning experience), you will receive your choice of:

o   a full refund, or,

o   credit for a priority place in the next equivalent event, if applicable and available.

Conduct
Please do not share with anyone else any of the Zoom invite links and passcodes, or links to recordings of workshops or events that we may send you.   

The success of Thesis Boot Camp and all our other courses relies on moderators and participants co-creating a safe space where individuals can feel supported to learn, reflect and grow. We reserve the right to refuse a place to and/or to remove from an online course any person who, in our opinion, behaves in an abusive or disruptive manner or engages in any discriminatory conduct. No refund will be given if exclusion is made for these reasons.

Loss
We cannot accept responsibility for any loss, damage or expense sustained by students as a result of an event or circumstance whether arising from natural cause, human agency, or beyond its control.

Participation and access
If you have any specific learning, access or other health requirements while working online, we ask that you discuss these with us in advance of the course, to enable us to do all we can to try to support your needs during this course. 

We use Zoom as our platform to deliver online content. We recommend that you set up a Zoom account and install the Zoom Client App on your personal device for the best experience. In the event of technical problems with participants’ equipment or connection, we cannot offer refunds. Should sessions be interrupted or cancelled due to our equipment or connection, we will either reschedule, offer a free place on alternative sessions if applicable and available, or offer refunds in full or in part depending on the circumstances.

Privacy statement
When you make a booking for an online course, you agree that we can collect and store your personal information to administer your booking and ensure that your needs are met during the course. This information includes personal contact details including: name, address, email address, access and learning requirements, payment information, any details that relate to grant applications or institutional funders, and any other information we may need to administer your booking. We will not store credit/debit card details.

You have the option of signing up to our mailing list, so that you can be kept up to date with courses and other support that we may have on offer. We never share or sell personal information to third parties, though please be aware as part of participating in our courses that you may enter into your own agreement with other parties (eg. by creating and using a Zoom account). Copyright and intellectual property
You guarantee that any material shared or otherwise submitted during this course is your own work, unless otherwise stated, and does not infringe the copyright or intellectual property rights of any third party. You own the copyright and intellectual property in all your original material. You also agree to respect the provenance and confidentiality of material produced or shared on this course which is not your own. You agree not to copy or disseminate material produced or shared on this course, including by training or processing information via generative AI applications.
